Terms & Conditions of Sale
These Terms and Conditions govern the supply of goods by Cypress Book Co. (UK) Ltd in regards to website orders and orders placed by telephone, post or email.
Delivery
Our aim is to process all orders within 2 working days from receipt of payment.
Books and products on this site are supplied by a number of different distributers. Upon completion of your order you will receive an email confirming your order details. Cypress aims to deliver its books within the following delivery time scales:
5 working days for UK delivery
8 working days for European delivery
15 working days for Worldwide delivery
The above time frames assume our carriers and any associated local carriers are able to deliver within their stated time frames. As their performance is beyond our control we are unable to guarantee these time scales will be met in every case, thus please allow 28 days for delivery.
If your order is urgent please contact us and we can provide a guaranteed delivery service at an additional charge.
If a book you have selected is not in stock at the time of placing your order, we will let you know the expected delivery timescale and provide you with the option of waiting, changing or cancelling your order for a full refund.
Payment
A valid customer credit or debit card is required for payment. Your credit or debit card will be charged once you submit your order.
Pricing
Prices are quoted in pounds sterling and exclude shipping costs, which are visible when viewing your basket. Books do not attract VAT in Europe, so our book prices do not include VAT. However, appropriate VAT will be charged for some of our other products, including audio and visual products and art supplies.
The customer is solely responsible for the payment of any sales tax applicable in the country where they are resident.
Pricing Disclaimer
To offer the best possible prices some of our books are ordered directly from the distributers. Since we do not have inventory of these items we may not always be able to give advance notice of price changes. Therefore, prices and post and packing rates are subject to change without notice.
If when processing an order we discover that the cost will be different than advertised, we will contact the customer with the option of paying the new price, cancelling at no charge, or exchanging their order for a different item.
Privacy
We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.
Returns and Refunds
You may cancel your order at any time before your order is delivered and up to 7 working days following the day you received your order. Notice of cancellation must be in writing by post, email or fax, quoting full order details. To obtain a refund of goods that have been despatched, you must return the goods at your own expense and the goods must be in a new and unused condition. Customers must return goods via recorded delivery and with adequate packing within 14 working days of receipt so that Cypress can provide a refund. Upon satisfactory and timely receipt Cypress will refund the total amount of your order, excluding the relevant post and packing costs.
Cypress will accept goods for return within 28 days of receipt if:
- Cypress sent the wrong goods to you; in which case upon the return of these goods Cypress will refund the customer or send the correct goods;
- The goods were found to be damaged upon receipt; in which case upon the return of these goods Cypress will either replace the goods or give the customer a full refund.
Force Majeure
Cypress will not be liable to any customer for any delays or failure to perform due to any causes beyond our reasonable control. These causes may include acts or omissions of the customer, acts of God, default by a supplier, interruptions to delivery due to transport difficulties. The delivery cycle will therefore be interpreted as extended by the time lost by the excusable delay.
Jurisdiction and Law
Contracts between you and Cypress are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with English law with English courts having jurisdiction subject to any contrary rights you may have if you are a consumer.
